Noble County Council on Aging was incorporated on July 12, 1977. With the mindset of helping enhance the lives of seniors in Noble County. The organization’s first home was on Main Street Kendallville where the organization had programming and activities for seniors and at the time only had one van for senior transport.
In 1997, the organization moved to 111 Cedar St. Kendallville. This location used to house McCray Memorial Hospital Offices before it was sold and then purchased for $90,000 by the Noble County Council on Aging. The move to the Cedar St. location allowed the organization to expand and allow new services which included a gathering space for seniors, educational classes, a recreation room, and travel tours. At this location Noble County Council on Aging and Noble Transit has grown and thrived over the years. The organization has grown and developed so much that it began looking for a new location for the senior center that would better fit the growing organization’s needs.
