State of Franklin Health Council

The State of Franklin Health Council, Inc. is a private non-profit corporation that began operation in 1966 as an area-wide comprehensive health planning agency and over the years developed a deepening concern for the problems of the aging and low-income population of the area which today is still seeking to meet the special needs of the residents of Swain and surrounding counties.

Responsibility for establishing agency policy rests with the Board of Directors. Daily operations of the State of Franklin are conducted by the Executive Director, Department Heads, and other staff members.
