OUR MISSION

The United Way of Stephens County was formed in 1954 as a Community Chest by two local businessman, T.H. McCasland, Sr. and Eric Murray. They created a consolidated fundraising effort that supported six local nonprofit agencies. These men helped create a lasting legacy that we proudly continue to promote this day.

Today, the United Way of Stephens County supports 20 agencies and programs providing a wide range of human services directly to the residents of Stephens County. Over 98% of funds invested in the community, go directly to these supported agencies. Agencies supported by the United Way, must be nonprofit, tax-exempt, practice sound financial management, have at least 18 months in operation before being considered and must be non-discriminatory.
