AMERICAN LEGION DEPARTMENT OF NORTH DAKOTA

We are The American Legion, Department of North Dakota, chartered by Congress in 1919, The American Legion was founded as a patriotic, mutual-help, war-time veterans organization. We are a community-service organization with about 12,000 members in North Dakota, in 210 local Posts. These Posts are organized into Regions and Districts. Each Region and District has officers who provide leadership in their respective areas. In addition to these officers, we elect or appoint a number of state-level officers and committee chairmen each year to conduct the programs of The American Legion.
