Chicago, Il., May 17, 2016 – GiveYoung.org, a philanthropic awareness group, has announced that its August 5th Engage event will be completely free for attendees 25 and under. The event, which includes five additional ticket price options, will host 300+ young professionals and introduce them to eight nonprofit organizations from the Chicago area. The Engage Chicago event will be in the youth-saturated River North area and will focus on educating the next generation of philanthropists about giving and volunteering.

The event will be held at the Westin River North Hotel in downtown Chicago. Eight local nonprofits — Working Bikes, USO of Illinois, Chicago Children’s Advocacy Center, People’s Music School, Girls in the Game, Girls on the Run, Simply from the Heart and One Tail at a Time — will be featured during the evening and on-hand for party-goers to engage with.

For the past four years, GiveYoung.org has brought together large groups of young professionals and given them the chance to mingle with local nonprofit organizations. These events have given young attendees the opportunity to interact with a handful of nonprofits through engaging activities, GiveYoung.org is looking to bring the same idea to Engage Chicago. Help the Children’s Advocacy Center pack backpacks for children heading back to school. Discover how it feels to navigate the Marines training course with USO of Illinois. Learn how to shoot free-throws in a cocktail dress with Girls in the Game. Meet a man’s best friend with One Tail at a Time. And do all of this while enjoying top shelf cocktails, exclusive raffle giveaways, stunning views and live music with friends.

“We do what no one else is doing,” says Rick Van House, co-founder and chairman of GiveYoung.org. “We help the next generation of philanthropists get their feet wet and hands dirty, all while having fun. Van House says this age group is often overlooked by charitable organizations because they often don’t make financial donations. “But we focus on educating them about many opportunities to help – from volunteering their time and talents to making small donations – so we can create a new generation of givers and volunteers.”

This exciting evening will give the next generation a chance to interact with peers and engage with nonprofits in a revolutionary way. The goal is to encourage young people to start thinking about philanthropic giving through donations of time, money or both.

General admission tickets for the event are available for $50 and VIP tickets can be purchased from $75 -$500 at GiveYoung.org/Engage. All ticket sale profits and money raised will go to GiveYoung.org to help the mission and continued work of educating the next generation of philanthropists.
