OUR MISSION

On September 11, 2001… 343 firefighters, 70 law enforcement officers and 9 EMS personnel were killed at the World Trade Center site. Now, several years later, the first responders of 9/11 are still reminding us of their sacrifices – hundreds (if not thousands) have died from illness contracted from their work at the WTC site. Memorial stair climbs honor those who have laid down their life in the service of others and support those left behind – both near and far.

Recognizing the need to provide comprehensive support for these events, several climb coordinators have joined together to create the Association of Memorial Stair Climbs, a non-profit organization, dedicated to never forgetting.

The mission of the Association of Memorial Stair Climbs is to facilitate collaborative efforts to create and sustain honorable and successful memorial stair climb events through a commonly declared purpose, comprehensive support and the identification, development and implementation of best practices and guidelines.
