We, the members of the Athenia Veterans Post, Inc., do declare ourselves an association for the promotion of civic welfare, the betterment of the community, the indoctrination of a sense of the individual obligation and responsibility to the community, state and country; the preservation of our memories of our association in the armed forces of our country; and the development of the mind, body and spirits of our youth, so that we may safeguard and transmit to posterity the principles of justice, freedome and democracy. In the pursuit of these we desire to exhibit a due consideration for the opinions, feelings and rights of others to maintain a perfect command of temper in all of our social and civic activities.
