Limited VolunteerAvondale’s southern-most gateway-Reading Road and Burnet Avenue-has the benefit of being positioned just two miles from downtown Cincinnati. While being one of five neighborhoods that make up Uptown Cincinnati, Avondale is home to the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, two of the biggest funders of ADC. As such, the neighborhood is central to the redevelopment, investment, and change that is occurring and will continue over the next three to five years. The pending redevelopment associated with improvements along the Innovation Corridor, coupled with investments around Cincinnati Children’s Hospital & Medical Center and the Zoo are likely to also stimulate private investment in the community.
