In 1975, two local businessmen, Jerry Brentham and Roy W***, became convinced that due to a lack of constructive alternatives too many of the area youth found themselves getting into trouble. Much of the time they were lacking direction and roaming the streets with time on their hands and nothing to do.
All of their prayers, patience, and persistence paid off in June of 1982, when the youth center began operations in a Belton elementary school gymnasium. At the request of numerous parents, activities at the facility were expanded to be year-round. In 1999, BCYC moved to its current location and the facility has been thriving ever since.
