OUR MISSION

The purpose of the Coalition Against Hunger is to feed and to see to the basic necessities of life for people who have fallen through the cracks in society, no matter what the reason that put them there. There is a very large and growing need for food banks to be available and open to the people of need in any locality they may be.
The Coalition Against Hunger was created in 1987 to address these issues on a private, business- based, non-governmental involvement, grass roots basis. Using skills learned from coming up from the streets of America to success, the founders incorporated and then established a 501c tax status, thus using existing business entities, to establish a focal point for existing charitable and private efforts as well as collecting and distributing the direct contributions of food as well as counseling and education on what to do, where to go, who to call, etc.
