Limited VolunteerEstablished in 1997, The Dorothea Tanning Foundation is dedicated to preserving the artist’s legacy and fostering a broader public understanding of and education about the artist’s art, writing, and poetry. The Foundation maintains an archive that provides access to the works of Dorothea Tanning through documentation, presentation, and interpretation. Current projects include the compilation of a catalogue raisonné that fully documents works by the artist; facilitating museum exhibitions through loans and research assistance; and developing and disseminating educational information and scholarly resources through this educational website devoted to the artist’s work. Located in New York City, the Foundation is open to researchers and scholars by appointment.
