Limited VolunteerORGANIZATIONAL CAPACITY For nearly thirty years, GYO has been providing quality programming to the young people and families in surrounding communities. In just over fifteen years, the number of youth served with counselling, educational, and recreational programs has grown from 365 to over 1,600. With the current Executive Director, the agency is able to achieve success through prudent time and fiscal management. The Nassau County Youth Board has named GYO as one of its model agencies that consistently meets goals and objectives described in the OFCS’s Standards of Excellence. GYO has a goal to provide quality after school programs in safe and sufficient space for all children regardless of physical or mental challenge or social status. Gateway Youth Outreach has an almost 30 year track record of providing quality programming to the young people and families of the area it serves. in 1989, 365 youngsters were provided with counseling, educational and recreational programs. in 2006, over 1,630 youngsters and their families were served with GYO programs utilizing the agency’s resources of both funding and staff to its maximum capacity.
