Greenwood Area Habitat for Humanity

Greenwood Area Habitat for Humanity provides the land, materials and expertise to help families build their own homes alongside volunteers. We then arrange an affordable mortgage so that the families can achieve financial stability and independence, and we can, in turn, serve more families. No profit is sought; the homebuyer repays only the cost of construction. Each homebuyer is required to help build his or her own home as well as those of others in our Homeownership program. Since 1988, Greenwood Area Habitat has built or rehabilitated and sold 105 homes, providing housing to 123 adults and 216 children.
