Limited VolunteerThe Horry-Georgetown Technical College Foundation (HGTC Foundation) was incorporated in 1978 and is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service and the South Carolina Tax Commission as a Tax-exempt 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
The purpose of the HGTC Foundation is to raise, invest, manage and disburse funds in support of the students, faculty, programs, staff, and activities of Horry-Georgetown Technical College.
Although student enrollment continues to increase in the College’s Associate Degree and Workforce Development programs of study, State funding of the College continues to decline, to the point where that funding stands at 1997 levels, despite an enrollment increase of more than 4000 students since that time. Helping to fill that funding gap is a major part of the Foundation mission.
