OUR MISSION

The Kansas Independent College Association (KICA) develops and enhances the competitive standing of its 20 member independent, non-profit, regionally accredited, degree-granting colleges and universities and strives to assure opportunity and choice in higher education for all students. KICA was founded in 1976. In partnership with the member colleges, KICA currently offers academic programs with courses of study in Secondary Methods and High-Incidence Special Education. The Special Education program provides the foundation for working with students who have mild to moderate disabilities (high-incidence) at the PreK-12, K-6 or 6-12 levels. Our Secondary Methods program provides a background in teaching literature, mathematics, humanities, and science for grades 6-12.
