Enhanced VolunteerOut of the Ashes was envisioned by the Segebarth Family in 2012, after a mission trip to Korah, Ethiopia. Overwhelmed by their experience, they knew they were called to do more for the people in this village.
Led by Faith, they determined a holistic educational sponsorship program would provide the most significant impact. Committed to the concepts of empowerment and sustainability, in 2013 they partnered with an Ethiopian NGO and formed Out of the Ashes.
In 2020, Out of the Ashes received their International NGO license and became Out of the Ashes Ethiopia. We now employ over 20 amazing Ethiopian staff members that share the same Vision for change in Korah.
After an initial year of sponsoring 51 children, Out of the Ashes has grown to support over 250 impoverished children.
