OUR MISSION

In 1985, a committee composed of Fearrington Village residents and other local citizens worked with the United Way of Wake County to establish Chatham’s own local United Way. A local Board of Directors was assembled and Michael Griggs served as Executive Director on loan from United Way of Wake County. Strong support from Fearrington Village and Carolina Meadows, as well as corporate support from Allied, Carolina Power & Light, and Kayser-Roth Corporation, resulted in the campaign reaching the $45,000 goal. Over the last 36 years, United Way has grown its donor base and increased financial support for human service programs to assist those in need in Chatham County.
